Fall Interior Design Trends

Fall Interior Design Trends

It’s that time of the year again when the leaves start to change, the weather starts to cool down, and pumpkin spiced everything takes over the local grocery store!  Refresh your home for the season ahead with some of our favorite interior design trends, whether you’re the type to add in small seasonal touches or go for a complete room makeover.

Rich Earth Tones & Warm Neutrals

A trend you can never go wrong with, especially during the fall season- styling with nature-inspired hues like deep oranges, mustard, shades of greens, browns, and tans. Incorporating these colors into your styling brings an instant warmth and homey feeling to get you ready for the upcoming holiday season.

Add a warm, rich tone to your space like the terracotta color in our Be Kind Accent Chair that brings an extra glow of warmth with it’s gold detailed base.  Pair it with other pieces in tan, brown, and neutral tones to bring a feeling of the outdoors in. Include a small end table like The Mali Pouf Ottoman that adds a modern feel with its rounded shape and striking hand woven design. The patterned shag rug in neutral colors adds texture and helps ground the whole space together.

Textural Fabrics & Décor

When temperatures start to drop, many start gravitating towards adding more textured fabrics to create a cozy and inviting feeling that will make you want to curl up by the fire with a good book.  In addition,  you can also play around with styling textured décor pieces, like vases, to help add more character to your space.

Add a textured accent chair in the bedroom and style it with a pillow and throw blanket to create a cozy corner.  Like our Delaney Accent Chair which has a soft Sherpa fabric with a curved back and arm rests for extra comfort making it a stylish and functional piece for any bedroom corner. The Mile High Throw Pillow and Have Faith Fringe Throw add in more comfy layers.

Style with vases of different shapes, sizes, and design to create a fun fall look.  Play around with height and add dried pampas grass for a more natural texture.  The Glitz and Glam Pleated Vase brings a dark glam factor with its gold painted contrast and pleated detail.  The Painted Lady Vase has a gourd shape perfect for the fall season with a unique hand painted detail.  The Shine On Bud Vase is designed with a metallic textured paint making it a great holiday décor piece. Styled all together they set a moody, yet sophisticated look that is perfect for October all the way through the holidays.

Entertaining-Ready Spaces

With the fall season comes the holiday season where social gatherings and time spent with family and loved ones become important. After being on pause last year, many are eager to start entertaining and refreshing their space for entertaining after going such a long period without.

If you have the extra space, create an intimate sitting area to promote conversation and catching up with friends. Use a bench like The Sunday Morning Storage Bench in ivory to create more seating area.  The faux fur creates a cozy environment and there’s even hidden storage to hold throw blankets for added comfort.   Add accent chairs in different colors like the McKenna Accent Chair to create a beautiful color contrast. Finish the look with an end table or coffee table, like the Sahara Sun Coffee Table. It helps bring the sitting area together by providing a place for guests to put their drinks or plates.  Dress it up with a fresh bouquet of flowers!

Elevate any corner by styling a chic bar set up. Create an elegant look by using a gold accented bar cart and adding cute glass barware in vintage prints.  Make an even more inviting atmosphere by adding an accent chair in a soft velvet material like the High Tide Accent Chair.  Finish the look with a stylish table like the Melodie End Table perfect for setting a cocktail on while enjoying conversation with a friend.

Cozy Sanctuary

Coming out of last year and spending a lot of time at home, many have been focused on making sure the home space is set up to be a personal sanctuary, and the ultimate place of comfort to spark more joy. Turn areas or rooms of the home into your own sanctuary or nook so that you always have a place for yourself to retreat to when you need some R&R.

What better a place to turn into a restful haven than the bedroom? Bedrooms are no longer a place just for sleeping.  It’s a place to relax and catch up on favorite TV shows or a good book, or perhaps a place to sit and journal or meditate.  Start with the bed and add layers like throw pillows and a soft throw at the foot of the bed.  It will add a cozy texture to make you feel like you’re laying in a fluffy cloud. For the days when you want to stay in bed a little longer and enjoy a cup of tea, use a tray like the Crystal Clear Large Tray.  It’s got handles for easy transport and it’s large enough to fit tea essentials as well as optional reading materials. Create a corner for meditation or journaling by adding an accent chair like the Lunar Accent Chair styled with a throw pillow.  Add a side table so you have a place to conveniently set your things on, or use it to display items that bring joy like your favorite book, a picture frame, or a small plant.
